I was somewhat surprised by the comment in the book Marketing by Kerin and Hartley that business people have about ethics. When surveys ask the question, “Is it OK to get around the law if you don’t actually break it?,” about half of businesspeople respond “yes.” 

The survey is from the, December 16, 2016, Harvard Business Review article titled "Why Ethical People Make Unethical Choices" With each company having a code of ethics, it seems those ethics are not adhered to. What was more depressing is that when an employee comes forward to shine a light on the unethical behavior they are penalized in 44% of cases.
